The Otto is the result of many years of development initiated by and named after Otto den Braver. It is the first short track blade with a bridge construction. By using a deck instead of standard stems, the design overcomes many problem with standard short track skates. The bridge creates a rigid construction between the front and rear mounting points preventing unwanted tension caused by inaccuracies in the boots. It also allows the blade to flex more and use it with less bend. Less curvature in turn reduces friction and increases gliding capabilities at higher speeds.
- No bending change
- Sensation plus stable
- Better dynamics
- Quick blade change
- More customization options (spacing/center of pressure and flex)

After feedback from skaters like Shaolin, Wu Dajing and Viktor An, we discovered that there is no optimal blade setup. You can adapt it to your own tastes. If you want powerful long hits, go for a flatter rocker in the middle and a little less bend than normal (about 2 less than M-Wave on a Marchese or Nagano style gauge). If you want lots of steering and a more nimble feel instead, you can keep normal rocker with much less bend (about 5 less). Also let the curvature increase less towards the front.
